What Is My IP Address?
Updated:
The address shown above is your public IP: the address every website you visit sees right now. If you are connected through a proxy, it should show the proxy's IP, not your own.

What a public IP address is
Your devices at home or in the office usually share one public IP address assigned by your internet provider. Your router hands out private addresses (such as 192.168.x.x) inside the network, but the outside world only sees the public one. That public IP is how websites send data back to you, and it is also one of the main signals platforms use to recognise visitors and link accounts together.
Your public IP can change when your router restarts or your mobile network reconnects. A static proxy works the other way: its IP stays the same for the whole rental period.
IPv4 vs IPv6
There are two versions of IP addresses in use today, and your connection may have one or both.
| IPv4 | IPv6 | |
|---|---|---|
| Example format | 203.0.113.25 | 2001:db8:85a3::8a2e:370:7334 |
| Address space | About 4.3 billion addresses | Practically unlimited |
| Website support | Every website | Many, but not all |
| Typical proxy use | Accounts, ads, e-commerce, anything | Large-scale tasks on IPv6-ready sites |
How to check that your proxy is working
- Note the IP this page shows without the proxy. That is your real public IP.
- Add the proxy to your browser, antidetect profile or Proxifier, then open this page inside that profile or through that app.
- If the page now shows the proxy's IP, the proxy is active. If it still shows your real IP, the traffic is not going through the proxy: check the profile settings or the proxy type (choose HTTP).
- If the page does not load at all, the proxy may be failing. Test it with the proxy checker to see whether it times out or rejects your credentials.
- Repeat for every profile. One profile working does not mean the others are.
Privacy notes
Every website you open can see this IP, so this page shows you nothing a website does not already see. A proxy replaces your IP for the traffic you send through it, but it does not hide browser fingerprints, cookies or logged-in accounts. In antidetect browsers, keep the timezone and language consistent with the proxy's country so the profile looks coherent. Learn more in What is a proxy.
Frequently asked questions
Why does this page show a different IP than my computer settings?
Your computer shows a private address inside your network. This page shows the public IP your provider or proxy uses on the internet.
My proxy is set up but this page still shows my real IP. Why?
The page was opened outside the proxied profile, or the proxy was added with the wrong type. Open it inside the profile and use HTTP.
Can someone find my home address from my IP?
An IP usually reveals your provider and an approximate area, not your street address.
Why do I see an IPv6 address?
Your provider supports IPv6 and your browser prefers it. Websites that support IPv6 will see this address.
