Proxies for Gaming
Updated:
A gaming proxy is useful for a narrower set of jobs than most people expect: keeping a stable static IP for game accounts and launchers, reaching a region's store or servers, and separating several accounts. It will not magically lower your ping, and many games limit proxy or VPN use in their terms, so check those first.
Who actually needs a gaming proxy
Most players never need one. A proxy starts to make sense when your connection or location gets in the way of something you are legitimately doing, or when you manage several accounts and want each one on its own address.
Think of it as a fixed address in another country, not as a speed booster.
- Players who want a consistent IP for account logins and launchers
- Players who travel and want to reach their home region's account pages and store
- Guilds, teams and testers running several accounts where the game allows it
- Developers and QA testing how a game's website or launcher behaves by country
Why a static dedicated IP matters for games
Game publishers protect accounts by watching for unusual logins. An IP that changes every session, or one shared with many strangers, looks risky and can trigger extra verification. A static private proxy keeps the same address for the whole rental period, assigned to you only.
Be realistic about speed. A proxy adds a hop, so ping usually stays the same or rises; it only helps when the proxy sits much closer to the game server than your normal route does.
- Same IP every session, for fewer security prompts
- No shared IP history with other players
- Unlimited bandwidth for launcher and patch downloads
- Honest note: we cannot promise lower latency, and HTTP proxies suit launchers, stores and browser games better than real-time game traffic
Which proxy and country to pick
Pick the country of the region you play in or the account belongs to. Private IPv4 datacenter proxies are the usual choice; use static ISP in the US or Vietnam if a service blocks datacenter IPs.
| Goal | Recommended product | Country |
|---|---|---|
| Vietnamese game accounts while abroad | Private IPv4 or Static ISP | Vietnam |
| Japanese or Korean region accounts | Private IPv4 | Japan, South Korea |
| Southeast Asia servers and stores | Private IPv4 | Singapore, Hong Kong |
| North America or Europe accounts | Private IPv4 or Static ISP | United States, United Kingdom |
Recommended setup
Our proxies are HTTP/HTTPS with username and password. Browsers and many launchers can use them directly; for desktop apps without proxy settings, a routing tool is the usual answer.
- For browser games and store pages, set the proxy in a dedicated profile as shown in the Chrome and Firefox guide.
- For desktop launchers, route only that app through the proxy with Proxifier, and leave the rest of your system on your normal connection.
- Use one proxy per account if you run several accounts and want them kept separate.
- Check the proxy's country and speed with the proxy checker before you log in.
- Keep the same proxy for an account and renew it before expiry.
Mistakes and ToS risks to avoid
Read the game's terms before using any proxy. Some publishers forbid changing region to buy cheaper content or to play on servers you are not entitled to, and they can suspend accounts that do it. A proxy cannot protect you from that.
- Buying region-locked keys or currency through a proxy when the store forbids it
- Using proxies for bots, cheats or farming that the game bans; this also breaks our terms of service
- Expecting a proxy to fix lag caused by Wi-Fi or a weak local connection
- Switching countries often on one account, which looks like account theft
- Sharing one proxy across many accounts you want kept separate
Frequently asked questions
Will a proxy reduce my ping?
Usually not. A proxy adds an extra hop. It can only help when the proxy server sits on a much better route to the game server than your own connection, which is not common.
Can I use a proxy for every game?
Not always. Some games and anti-cheat systems block or forbid proxies and VPNs. Check the game's terms before you buy.
Do your proxies support UDP or SOCKS5 for game traffic?
No. Our proxies are HTTP/HTTPS, which suits launchers, account pages, stores and browser games. Real-time match traffic usually needs a different kind of connection.
Which country should I choose?
The region your account belongs to or the servers you play on. For Asian servers, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea are the usual picks.
What if the proxy is too slow?
Test it with the proxy checker and contact support through a ticket. If it cannot connect or is in the wrong location, the refund policy applies.
